The music is probably best described as Progressive Hard Rock - it's got a lot of odd times and extended instrumental sections yet maintains a hell of a lot of melody and upbeat feeling -- kind of like if you dumped Dream Theater and Rush into a big blender with Iron Maiden and the Scorpions -- but only kinda like...
We're not looking for any particular singer's style (Bruce Dickinson) or voice (Michael Kiske) -- rather that you bring your own thing to the table and do what you do. And in the case that we think it sucks, we promise we won't let Simon Cowell listen to it.
The songs are fully structured and do have lyrics - the problem is that none of the rest of us can sing at a level which does the project justice. You'll get to hear that for yourself when we post the tracks with guide vocals.
The Technical:
All of the tracks we have were recorded in a pro room with fantastic gear - so the hard work is done. What we need now is someone who can provide vocal tracks performed in a neutral acoustic space and recorded through a modest setup - all we're asking for is that you foam up a corner and give us 24-bit files of your performance.
As far as what you get out of this - you can feel free to play it for anyone you like. As far as most people are concerned the vocals are the most prominent part of a song so you'll get to FEEL like a million bucks even if you don't get the real thing.
